I am impressed with the Recaro ProSport - it is easy to get my daughter into, the height adjustments were easy to make, and getting it into my car was a breeze. It's not heavy, but plenty sturdy, and seems comfortable. My daughter didn't want a new car seat ( we had to replace ours due to an accident) but she hasn't even missed her old one since I put her in this one. One thing I am not satisfied with is the lack of a cup holder, but that's my own fault for not researching it enough. I just assumed you could buy one separately. And I have, with a bit of effort. Would recommend. Great value.

Great Seat but Headrest Troubles

We love the seat. It's very sturdy and comfortable. Our daughter is only 34 lbs but 5 years old. We needed to find something "big kid" like but still with a 5-point harness. This has been perfect. However, do some measuring and make sure you can remove your headrests & posts completely. We have a Jeep Grand Cherokee and the headrest posts are part of the seat. He had to take the seat out and take it apart to remove the posts and put the seat in. We had hoped to get the same seat for our son but won't be able to since we can only get 1 side out. It was a pain but it's done and the seat is great.

After months of reviewing car seats and asking the opinion of friends that have the PROSPORT, the Britax Frontier, and Diono Radian, I went with this car seat/booster. I was hesitant to get it in the beginning because of previous reviews of it having really short harness straps, but read an updated review that as of JULY 2011, Recaro had made the straps longer. I am glad that I had read the reviews and chose this seat! My 2 year old was at the 35lb weight capacity of his car seat and we needed a bigger one. I wanted one that would last until he is out of a car seat, but still able to use the harness for as long as possible. I am SO happy that I chose this one! It installs in minutes and my boys fell asleep in the car with no head slumping. The only con that I ran into was I didn't realize (because I didn't read instructions fully) that it has 3 different loops in which to adjust the harness length on the back of car seat. I didn't adjust it properly before installing it in the car and when it wouldn't tighten up enough had to uninstall completely to adjust the length. Completely my fault though, consumer error not manufacturing. This car seat is heavy, over 20 lbs, which may make it difficult to change between cars, but I think that is a good thing when my children's safety is involved. I wouldn't want them in cheap plastic in an accident. This car seat has everything that I was looking for and more. Comfort, safety, ease of use and installation, and even comes with a removable "piddle pad" for easy clean up of spills and accidents. Not to mention the fun colors and high safety ratings! I highly recommend it, so much so that I bought a second one for our 4 year old. It has one of the highest harness weights of any of the car seat to booster combos. 90lbs! This is by far the best seat that I have owned!

Our son is 2 and we love this seat. It is sporty and well made. I would buy it again. We transfer it easily from car to car. Easy enough to adjust for how fast a child grows. it is usually due for a cleaning by the time you need to adjust the size. Only downfall is it doesn't work as a rear facing seat so it doesn't cover as wide a range as other seats.

I did a lot of research on car seats before i purchased one.. i remembered Recaro made a baby seat and know them to be a great brand from racing seats that they make.. we got the seat in about a week which is very impressive since its a huge box coming from the other side of the country.. once we got it open and started putting it in i was shocked at how easy it was! everything clips and tightens, we didnt have to adjust anything to get this seat to fit! My daughter is 7 months old and absolutely loves it! it has a lot of cushion to it.. just like others say when she falls asleep her does not fall forward anymore like her previous seat but it rests to the side.. i have been recommending this seat to all my friends that have little ones!

I was a bit cautious about shelling out over $200 for a car seat that seems to be comparable with the Baby's R Us brands that are about half the price. I am sure that the Craco and other brands are well made, but this seat is on another level entirely. My wife joked that she wanted one now to keep her safe while she is driving!. it is extremely solid, and well engineered. it completely wraps around the child to give them substantial additional protection from side impact. It is easily adjustable, and converts from a 5 point harness seat to a 3 point lap belt booster seat. I have another child on the way, and I will be buying another Recaro for him as well when he outgrows the rear-facing seat system.

My son loves this seat! It's more plush than our Britax Advocate and when my son falls asleep his head doesn't lean forward at an awkward angle. I prefer the 5 point harness on the Britax because of the audible click when it's tightened properly but overall this is a very nice seat.

After reviewing all my options for my small-statured 6yr old who is not ready for a booster seat & still needs a 5-point harness; the Recaro ProSport is the BEST fit. The Ease of preparing it and placing it in the car was much better than our Britax. I love the Safety features, and its slim lines. The only issue is my son cannot reach his beverages in the center console due to the side-impact safety feature. It does not have a cup holder on the seat. I'm fine with it because I love this Car Seat.

We recently purchased the Recaro Prosport for our 3 year old for an additional car. We did so after buying the Recaro Proride for our one year old and deciding we would never buy anything else. I love the safety of the Recaro seats and the quality is incredible. Both are easy to install and both of my kids love them. My three year old has said that he doesn't want to ride in his old car seat - he loves the new Prosport and it is much more comfortable. We highly recommend the Recaro products, they are worth the cost.

I ordered the ProSPORT seat in Midnight from Babyviva. It arrived very quickly, and was perfect! The seat is heavy, and was a bit tricky to install into our Toyota Tundra, but once we got it in ~ it fits great and best of all my little man loves it. The seat is very well made, and soft. I do find that when my baby falls asleep he looks uncomfortable, but he seems to sleep just fine. My husband loves this seat, and so do I. I am proud to have it, and hope we never have to find out how great the safety features are.

This new Pro Sport is amazing just like the Young sport we like the way it supports our child's head when they fall asleep. We purchased our 4th Recaro Car Seat from Baby Viva. We have two boys and they fit so perfect in the Recaro. We purchased the ProSport in Blue and it is beautiful. Looks very sharp in our car. We also have the gray one. We have had Recaro's since our children grew out of the infant car seat. I have had to take the material off the frame of the car seat for washing and I have been very impressed with the construction of the car seat. When we first considered the Recaro, I was concerended about safety and comfort and these surpass the competition. I just love our Recaro car seats. The material is very soft and comfy for our oldest son - who at 2 has a strong opinion about his seat of choice. Our youngest son is currently using the convertible Recaro seat and he is perfectly happy in it. I was also very impressed with BabyViva - they had a discount code for Recaro seats and I saved a lot of money - so buying this product was a no brainer for us!

Recaro improved the headrest/shoulder harness height adjustment (we also have a Recaro Signo convertible from 2009). This seat is about what I expected. Easy to use, seems comfortable, secuity and flexibility unmatched by any other manufacturer I have seen. Complaints: This is a heavy seat compared to a plain booster. I guess it is due to all the stuff needed for the harness mode. Like the Signo, the buckles are very loose on the straps and so it can be hard to find the buckle, or worse, allow the straps to get twisted. The adjustment of the straps that anchor the seat in the car is very difficult - easily tightened, very hard to loosen, but I have experienced this with all child seats, probably a fear of unintentional loosening lawsuits.

The car seat arrived well within the timeframe needed. It was packaged very well and came ready to be put in the car. My daughter immediately wanted to sit in it. The seat itself is very very easy to install. It took me only 2-3 minutes. It feels solid and looks great. All the small details make this car seat just a notch above the rest. If we need any more car seats, Recaro will be our brand.

We've come to expect great things from Recaro. This is our third seat (2 kids), and this did not disappoint. Even better, we got a great discount from BabyViva, and we received the seat within a week, even shipped coast to coast. A 1 year old should be rear-facing!

I agree with the previous review, this is a great seat with lots of comfy padding, great side impact protection, and plenty of growing room for older children. But, research shows that a 1 year old is 500% safer when kept rear facing. A forward facing 1 year old is much more likely to sustain serious (or fatal) neck and spine injuries than a rear facing 1 year old. This is not the safest choice of seat for any child under 2.

I can't enough good things about this carseat. easy to install, very comfy. My daughter falls asleep in it on long trips which she has never done before.
